Dr. Madre Fake Amazon Reviews – Greed Apparently Overwhelms Morals and Scruples with 81% of the Reviews being obviously FAKE!

Newer Update: It is truly Amazing that in about 11 hours since our last update below, Dr. Madre has posted 2 additional FAKE reviews on his Amazon listing for this alarm in the names of W. Berstler and P. Stein. Now we have 13 fake reviews out of 16, which is over 81% fake! We are speculating that this person behind Dr. Madre must be unbelievably naive, very stupid, or have an extreme sense of infallibility that he can get away with this illicit behavior forever, or a combination of these traits.

Dr. Madre is going strong . We just saw another obviously fake Amazon review which is in the very same nature as the other fake reviews. This is in the name of M. Dryden. So now we have 11 fake reviews out of a total of 14. That is almost 80% fake! Here we seem to have a person so overwhelmed by greed that he has no problems about thumbing his nose at Amazon and Amazon's customers, while displaying very poor ethics and scruples. It does make us wonder about the naivety of the Dr. Madre selling this alarm, and how far he will be allowed to proceed along this path of ill repute.

We have been pointing out the excessive illicit behavior of Theos Medical Systems and its owner Saket Bhatia with respect to their Chummie products for about two and a half years. Much of this has been on Amazon with extensive manipulation of Amazon Reviews. Now we have another candidate who is plastering Amazon Reviews with fake invented reviews.

Dr. Madre came onto the bedwetting alarms scene on Amazon.com in October, 2015 or thereabouts. We should point out that Dr. Madre’s alarm is manufactured by “Modo Technologies” in China, and is abundantly offered by many sellers in the U.S. and elsewhere. This alarm is the “old” version of the Nytone alarm, which currently sells for about the same price on Amazon. Modo was making this, and since Nytone is no longer getting it from Modo, Modo is dumping these on the market for whoever wants to donate their money to Modo. These sellers seem to come and go. They have not spent any time or money on the design or development of this product, and their commitment is only to unload the units that they have purchased from Modo. Modo has no obligations or assurance of continuity or support, and nor do these sellers. 

Very shortly after the appearance of Dr. Madre’s bedwetting alarm on Amazon, four 5-star reviews appeared on October 16, 2015 written by:

To us these reviews seem obviously fake and written by the same person. We have written very adequately about some of the tests we apply to determine if an Amazon Review is a fake. These four reviews are undoubtedly so.

Most Amazon customers are very gullible and look at Amazon reviews with an air of complete trust in the accuracy and truth of the reviews. They can be easily overwhelmed by reviews and the “stars” on the reviews, without questioning the truth of these reviews. The quantity of reviews and stars are all that appears to matter to these unsuspecting persons. There is also a strong "herd instinct" in Amazon customers. Rather than forming their own opinion based on facts, they often believe that because a product has been purchased by many people, it must be good. So they purchase it without much thought and without comprehending that this "popularity" is often caused by a "snow-ball effect," where a snow-ball can result in an avalanche, and may be unrelated to the actual qualities of a product. This gullibility has been extensively exploited by Chummie to both boost his own products and to bad-mouth competitor’s products. As Amazon did not take any action over Dr. Madre’s phony reviews, it seems that Dr. Madre was overwhelmed by his short-term success and so decided to indulge in more fake reviews. Greed often overwhelms fear. All of these newer reviews are written on November 24, through 26 by:

All of these “reviewers” have purchased either one or two products, the same one or two products including this alarm, and only Dr. Madre’s products. The dates of the reviews and the content and style of the reviews leave very little doubt in our minds that the same person has written all of these reviews. Although we cannot say with absolute certainty that all of these reviews are fake, there is an extremely high probability that they are fake and written by the same surrogate of Dr. Madre. We ask readers to look at these 13 reviews listed above and currently on Amazon.com and confirm for themselves that they are very likely fakes. We should also mention that we keep a record of these reviews and reviewers.

So we have a new competitor competing with Chummie for the “crown” of providing the most fake reviews for a product being extensively hyped with fake reviews. In fact, on a percentage of fake reviews to total reviews, Dr. Madre has surpassed Chummie very substantially. 

13 out of a total of 16 reviews are fake. That is 81% are fake reviews!

Now ask how many “suckers” would be buying Dr. Madre’s bedwetting alarm if it only had 3 reviews, instead of 16. And while these mostly-fake 16 reviews have 13 5-stars, only 2 of the 3 had 5-stars. Dr. Madre, like his predecessor Chummie, appears to be overwhelmed by greed and what he believes he has going for himself at Amazon. Morals and scruples do not appear to be interfering with his misbehavior.

Amazon, are you paying any attention to this seller’s very abundant use of false and fake reviews? How long are you going to tolerate this? How long is Nytone going to tolerate being undercut by a competitor with no skin in the game except for the items purchased from Modo and using unethical reviews to boost his sales of a similar-to-Nytone product on Amazon? Frankly, the only problem that we would have with Dr. Madre’s bedwetting alarm being sold by Amazon is that it is not registered with the FDA. By FDA regulations this alarm cannot be shipped from a U.S. shipment point. However, this extensive placement of false reviews on Amazon does lead us to request U.S. customers to withhold their business from Dr. Madre’s alarm, the sales of which are illicitly and unethically promoted through these 81% fake reviews!

We also want to point out that many of the newest fake reviews also involved Dr. Madre's Medical Infrared Thermometer which is sold by Dr. Madre on Amazon. We also found another site at
fakespot.com 
which had also detected this abundant fraud for this infrared thermometer. According to fakespot.com, 61% of Dr. Madre's Amazon reviews are fake for this item. We can say that many of the fake Dr. Madre "customers" that had placed fake reviews for the bedwetting alarm also place fake reviews for this thermometer. Dr. Madre appears to have benefited substantially from these many fake reviews for the thermometer, which Amazon has given a "# 1" popularity rating in its category. Dr. Madre is obviously extending this fake reviews policy to its bedwetting alarm.

Here we have an Amazon seller, Dr. Madre, who is completely illicit and wrongful in extensively abusing Amazon reviews and consequently Amazon customers and others who may refer to the Amazon reviews and are completely misled by these many fake reviews apparently posted by D. Madre. We again ask:
Amazon, are you paying any attention to this seller’s very abundant use of false and fake reviews? How long are you going to tolerate this?
 

Fake Claims at Chummie - The Sorry Awards that Chummie Claims.

We have expressed our concern over and been pointing out the excessive fake content that Chummie's owner Saket Bahtia (Bhatia) has been dumping on the public to convince them that his antiquated Chummie alarms are exceptional. One of his touts has always been the words "Award winning." Since we are well aware of his strong tendency to say whatever suits him, as opposed to whatever is factual and true, we thought it appropriate to look into these awards that Chummie is supposed to have won.

We could find nothing on Chummie's web site which indicated what awards Chummie received. Nor was there anything on Chummie's product page on Amazon, eBay or any other site that Bhatia was trying to sell his alarms on. For example, on the Chummie site as Reason # 1 for buying a Chummie alarm, Bhatia claims "Chummie has won numerous awards for outstanding technology and product line." But no listing of the awards.

Then, wonder of wonders, on his Facebook page, starting with the words "Award Winning Bedwetting Alarm" we read 

OK. So we checked on these awards, both who may be giving them and what award was given. We did a Google Search for the awarding party by itself, which should show whether such an organization exists. We also searched for the award party together with Chummie or Theos or Bhatia to try and identify what award Chummie may have received. So, going down the above list:

1.            National Pediatric Society of India. There is no such organization or party.

2.            Silicon Valley Awards. The organization exists but appears to be an organization controlled and peopled by persons of Indian background in that area. We would very substantially discount such an award, given to a local Indian. Very poor and dubious value, being given an award by what could be considered to be a club of local Indians.

3.            Pediatric Association of Oman. This exists, but we could find no reference to Chummie or its parent. An Arab country with a population of about 3 millions, and not exactly modern. Even IF there is some award, how much credence can we give to such an award? Very poor and dubious value, if there is any.

4.            Pediatric Urology Society of Hungary. We could find a single reference for 2002, many years before Chummie/Theos existed, which was a very short statement of its history. No other reference could be found. Any award from such a small "may not be there" organization, IF there is an award, would be of very poor and dubious value.

5.            Indian Academy of Pediatric Urology. There is no such organization or party.

6.            Pediatric Society of Malaysia. There is no organization or party of this name.

So, the only "award" we could verify is provided to Bhatia by his buddies at the Silicon Valley Awards. As we said earlier, an award of very poor and dubious value.

The other organizations that Bhatia references are all non-existent, or in out-of-the-way places and may not be in existence.

So more fake nonsense or gross exaggerations from Bhatia. He does appear to have a devious mind and suggests non-existing or very remote organizations as having given him awards. This way he is unlikely to be confronted by the "award giving" organization for fraud, defamation, misrepresentation, or any other term that a bona fide lawyer would consider to be appropriate. But he cannot fathom that the fakery that he considers to be acceptable is repugnant to most of the world.

Another grand dose of hype from the master of trickery! Wake up America! And you too, World!

Chummie: Very Strong Deceit – Fraud on Amazon – Getting Amazon to Remove Negative Reviews.

We have reported earlier on Chummie’s Very Strong Deceit on Internet Review Sites, particularly Amazon. We have also raised the issue elsewhere in the blog wondering how Chummie had reduced (have deleted) many of the negative ratings they had received from legitimate Amazon customers. We particularly remember one long and detailed breakdown off all of the issues which this customer was having with the Chummie alarm. We recall seeing it, then it disappeared, then it was placed back in by the customer. In recent months it has not been on Amazon. We really do not understand why Amazon should have kowtowed to Chummie and removed a very honest, accurate, relevant, non-abusive review which said that the Chummie was a 1-star product, and explained why.

Is this seller able to get negative reviews removed?? Isn't that a conflict of interest? I bought this alarm after reading the glowing customer reviews. I don't usually leave reviews, but had to make sure parents hear an honest account of why you should NOT purchase the Chummie. Wearing the alarm box on the neck is VERY uncomfortable and the sensor is a joke. Our son wet the bed about every night and often more than once a night. He was a very sound sleeper like most children with bedwetting. We bought the Chummie and it was a big mistake. First, the clip on the alarm unit. It is designed so that the alarm unit pokes your child in the neck if they wear it like it is designed. Look at the picture of the alarm unit on the child. If you wear a top with a regular neck opening think about where the alarm is going to sit - poking your child in the neck. Would you want to sleep all night with a hard plastic box poking you in the neck. As of this writing, they don't show you the back of the alarm unit. It is a small plastic piece that you have to hook on to your child's neck opening. The clearance is really small. You really can't lift it up and open it up enough so that it is really hard to hook up at night. If the cloth of the pajamas is thick, good luck in trying to getting it to work. This is an issue. It is really uncomfortable and my son hated it. Our son is average build and the clothing he wears has standard neck openings. Most people probably end up putting the alarm in the bed which really bothers me because of the strangulation hazard that this causes. Random Electrical Problems - We experienced numerous problems with the sounding of the alarm. Some times the alarm would just go off in the middle of the night for no reason. Other times the alarm would not stop sounding unless we removed the batteries. After so many problems we found that if we removed the batteries each night before bed, then reinserted them that the alarm would usually work that night. If you are experiencing the same problem, this is probably a solution. Sensor cord - pulls out of the alarm unit frequently. The sensor that you put on the underwear is connected to the alarm unit with an electronic plug. It just pushes in and doesn't lock in place. Sometimes our son would wake up wet and we would find that the sensor plug had come undone. Why doesn't this thing lock in place. Frequent false alarms. Poorly designed. Sensor - the sensor is a big disappointment. The marketing team made it sound good, but they needed a couple of parents with kids for testing. Sure, they made a sensor but no way to secure it to underwear. So what do they do? Give you a pack of Chummie bandages to tape the sensor to underwear. Let's get real. This is the 21st century. The adhesive is so poor and the bandages are so small they don't work. Do you really want to be using band aids every night trying to make the sensor stick to your kid's underwear? What if your child wets twice a night. It's 2 am and you are in your child's room trying to get the sensor to stick on with tape?  Harsh? No, just honest feedback. We have used an alarm in the past that was much superior to this "advanced" unit. I fell for the hype. Maybe you won't. When the Chummie includes cheap band aids to make their alarm work take it as a sign! Ballboy 99, you did a great service to people who are still being hammered by Chummie’s deceit. Your review and concern about Amazon’s attitude towards it are justified, as it has disappeared again. But it is resurrected here as a service to all people who want to know about Chummie and its deceitful methods. This is a great example!

Also note Chummie/Theos’s response. It certainly ranks very high on the list of most conceited, fake and goofy responses that we have seen. Truly Perceptive says what this entire blog has being saying about Chummie. Chummie and Theos are as fake as a $3 bill!

As has been historically true, Chummie probably will not respond to this review of yours. But we can always hope that Amazon will, if it is brought to their attention. We, and other readers of this blog, would certainly like to know about this review and why it disappeared from Amazon.

Chummie (and, of course, Theos Medical Systems) keeps extending its levels of deceit to ever higher levels. Not having the capacity or mental acuity to do anything original other than indulge in deceit, Chummie is now trying to imitate this site.

Chummie may never realize that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Unfortunately for them, they are so impaired that they are incapable of doing even a modest job of imitation, limiting their imitation to the use of the words "Bedwetting Alarm(s) Deceit." Beyond this, their postings are typically Chummie, with crude gesticulations, unoriginal ideas and the banalities that Chummie is known for.

We are not expert enough to say whether stupidity is a genetic trait, a learned (or unlearned) trait, or something else. But we must give Chummie a high grade for repeating obviously absurd inventions. These have generally been laid to rest, but Chummie and/or Chummies' flacks do not yet sense that with their very limited powers of creativity and thought.

So the story keeps unfolding, with Chummie providing new dimensions of craziness as they vent their spleen at Nytone, DryBuddy and Bedwettingstore. Why these? The answer can only be found in Chummie's weird mind.

This entire thing is becoming more and more entangling for Chummie. Does anyone want to help them move along faster? Perhaps they can tie themselves up so thoroughly in their own obfuscation, that they won't be able to save themselves from themselves. Remember the FDA fiasco?  See
