We have spent much time
identifying and spreading the word about incorrigible people whose only
approach to business appears to be one not vested in American values and ethics
for the moral conduct of business, but in some lower reaches of the ethical and
moral domain where perpetrators lack the necessary values that are generally
accepted in the U.S. and Europe and indulge in misdeeds that should lead to severe
negative consequences. An important part of this is the judge, who not only determines
guilt, but also mandates punishment for the misdeeds. If the judge is lenient
in the punishment, there is insufficient incentive for the guilty perpetrator
to adequately reform. Misdeeds continue, if not on this side of the fence, then
on the other.
A matter on Amazon.co.uk was brought to our attention. Amazon.co.uk is the U.K. arm of Amazon.com, which serves a similar function in the U.K. as Amazon.com does in the U.S. A variety of sellers of different products can be found on Amazon.co.uk, many of whom may also be selling products on Amazon.com.
Of particular interest on Amazon.co.uk is Amazon ASIN: B00FD4MS8U . This ASIN is for the DryBuddyEZ, a bedwetting alarm that has seen much abuse by at least one other seller of the same class of products. It should be said that, at least at the beginning of this seller's history, this seller appeared to be an equal opportunity abuser, using a variety of deceitful and illicit methods to attack his competitors in order to advance his own product(s). Not much later, this deceitful seller had narrowed down his attention to primarily one competitor (DryBuddy), and to a lesser extent another (Malem).
Now back to DryBuddyEZ on Amazon.co.uk . We became aware on April 23, 2015, that a U.K. seller had very recently (on Feb. 27, 2015) placed this item for sale on Amazon.co.uk. This item had received no reviews on this site until suddenly, on April 20, 2015, it received 2 (two) reviews. These reviews are reproduced below, directly copied from the Amazon site:

Not as expected,
This review is from: DryBuddyEZ Bedwetting alarm with Sound &/or Vibration alert
Did not go off when he was wet. Tested the product and found it was defective right out of the box.

Not recommended,
This review is from: DryBuddyEZ Bedwetting alarm with Sound &/or Vibration alert
My son was able to put it off at night when it went off. Also, the alarm is not loud. Not recommended.

From each of the above two reviewers, there is only this
one review on Amazon.co.uk which is reproduced above in its entirety.
Isn't this amazing? After about two months of being offered on Amazon.co.uk, two very similar reviews appear at the same time, both giving one star to this product. Neither reviewer is an Amazon Verified Purchaser, and could be some miscreant posting negative blogs because it suits him (them). And the style and content of both reviewers and reviews are very similar to many reviews against the DryBuddyEZ on Amazon.com in the U.S. Amazon has removed many of the U.S. reviews as being fake and predatory, and even pointed their finger at one abusive seller (the same seller mentioned earlier).
Extremely coincidental and completely innocent circumstances? Perhaps. But experience has made us very suspicious whenever something reeks of abusive behavior as this appears to be. So examine all of the coincidences, circumstances, timing, the non-Amazon Verified Purchaser status of the reviewers, and the style, nature, and content of these reviews.
Now, would anyone care to guess what relationship may exist between these two reviewers? Or how these reviewers may relate to any other party whose name has not been mentioned in this article? Is Amazon still asleep at the switch? Is Amazon still tolerant of what seems to be obvious abuse and fake reviews to us?
Can a jackal change his stripes or patches? Is a jackal a predator? Can a jackal sneak under a fence and enter new pastures to attack new and innocent prey? Especially prey that do not know about a jackal?
Enough said for the moment. We have kept copies of these reviews for posterity, or for Amazon, if in the future they are somehow unable to find these reviews, as has actually happened in the past.
